The campaign to restore local food and business goes back to the 1960s at least, but with rising fears of pollution, waste, and climate change in the last decade, going local is now one of the most popular and fastest growing movements in North America. This lecture by Dr. Ryan O’Dowd will guide us through some of the moral, political, economic and social issues involved in going local, helping us to think conscientiously about local living in a global world.
This lecture will go from 7 - 9pm at Redeemer University College, Garner Road, Ancaster. The admission fee is $15. You may pre-register for the evening by filling out the Registration Form at http://www2.redeemer.ca/clear/.
